European (World) Birdwatch
European
(World) Birdwatch is an annual International campaign. It is aimed at the drawing
of public attention to the conservation of birds on their migratory ways. Another
aim is the "winged population headcount".
Europe's largest birdwatching event, the Eurobirdwatch (7-8
October 2006), has once again been a huge success across the continent,
attracting more than 43.408 people in 34 countries and spotting more than 2.204.949
birds.
In Ukraine 8 978 people participated in Eurobirdwatch and 355 353 birds were
registered.
