Oleksandr
Topishko is zoologist, post-graduate student of the Biological Faculty
of Taras Shevchenko Kiev State University. The main idea of his photographs
is demonstration of the wonderful world of wildlife and drawing the public
attention to necessity of nature conservation. His main principle is: the
life of the creature is more important than even the best picture.
Pictures and articles of Oleksandr
were published in scientific and popular-science issues "Nature
Reservation in Ukraine", "Biodiversity Conservation and
Nature Reservation in Ukraine", "Live Ukraine",
"Zoogarden", "Hunter and Fisherman", "Forest
and Hunting Journal", "Ornithologische Mitteilungen",
"Young Naturalist". The author is the winner of photo-competition
of "Naturalist" journal (1998), participant of the competition
“What I would like to conserve?” (Vilnius, Lietuva, 2001), TV competition
"The Wildlife" (Kyiv, 2002), winner of the competition
diploma of the Third All-Ukrainian ecological forum "Live Planet"
(2002) and the diploma of the UN Mission in Ukraine.
