Farming and Nature Conservation. A Guidebook on Practical Management, Restoration and Creation of Habitats on Farmlands
Published by Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Birds/BirdLife Partner in Ukraine and sponsored by BirdLife/Vogelbescherming Nederland and Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (PIN-Matra). The guidebook is a translation of RSPS’s edition “Farming and Wildlife. A Practical Management Handbook”. This guidebook is the next edition under the “Conservation Management” Series launched by USPB in 2005. Management advices and recommendations provided in the guidebook help farmers, landowners and environmentalists to identify conservation interests and priorities, assess restoration and re-creation opportunities, as well as implement the best management practices. Furthermore, the guidebook demonstrates how to make conservation an integral part of agricultural practice. Eight chapters of the guidebook examine major nature habitats found on farmland, including arable lands, grasslands and pastures, lowland heathlands, rough pastures, woodlands, hedgerows, wetlands, building and walls. Book contains black and white illustrations, different tables and figures and case studies on practical implementation of recommendations, provided in the text. The guidebook is available to all persons who interested in nature conservation and farming issues. You may order your copy in the USPB’s Secretariat:
